WhatsApp for Windows: Here’s how to make video and voice calls
Here are five things you need to know about how to make calls on the WhatsApp app for Windows, which launched on Microsoft‘s app store in March 2023.
Download and Install WhatsApp for Windows
To make calls on WhatsApp for Windows, you must first download and install the app on your computer. The app can be downloaded from Microsoft’s app store and once downloaded, follow the installation instructions.
Open the WhatsApp App After successfully installing the app
Open the WhatsApp app on your desktop and log in using your mobile phone number. You will receive an OTP (one-time pin) code on your registered phone number, which you will need to enter on the app to log in.
Access Contacts and Make a Call Once logged in
You can access your WhatsApp contacts by clicking on the ‘Calls’ tab.
The tab displays your call log, which includes all your previous calls, and a dial pad to make a new call. To make a call, click on the dial pad and enter the phone number of the person you wish to call.
Accept Incoming Calls When someone calls you on WhatsApp
You will receive a notification on your desktop when someone tries to call. You can either answer or reject the call using the on-screen options.
Enjoy High-quality Calls
WhatsApp for Windows offers high-quality voice and video calls. You can host group video calls with up to eight people and audio calls with up to 32 people.
The calls are secure, and you can make international calls to any other WhatsApp user across the globe.
“We’ll continue to increase these limits over time so you can always stay connected with friends, family and work colleagues,” the Meta-owned chat app wrote in a blog post.
What about Mac users? According to WhatsApp, a new and faster desktop app is currently in the early stages of beta and will launch soon.
