A local microblogger is gaining notoriety on social media for exposing local celebrities who allegedly wear fake Gucci garments.
Celebrities accused of wearing fake Gucci
Materialism is an essential cog in everything that makes a celebrity and apparently, in South Africa, public figures are resorting to desperate means to come off as part of an elite group of high-end luxury brand connoisseurs. Of course, that’s if we are to believe the claims made by a microblogger who runs the popular Instagram page @fake_guccicommunitysa.
The unknown blogger who claims to be a ‘government official’, has tagged himself as a vigilante whose sole purpose is “to expose these designer wanna be’s.”
Already, since this past week, high-profile celebrities, including Big Nuz’ Mampintsha and Oscar Mbo have been accused of rocking fake Gucci.
Here are some of the hilarious ‘exposes’ recently posted by the mystic microblogger:
Somizi Mhlongo brings receipts
Feeling the pressure, Somizi Mhlongo, whose personal life was recently blasted in newspapers following the leak of Mohale Motaung’s x-rated tell-all, came forward to clear up any lingering doubts about the authenticity of his high-end wardrobe, after he appeared on the page as an alleged Gucci faker.
The suspended Idols SA judge took to social media to provide irrefutable proof that he spends tens-of-thousands of rand on Gucci items at a store that keeps a history of his purchases.
