News of the Talk To Me rapper’s murder broke out on Saturday evening (early Sunday morning in South Africa), after a violent scuffle between two groups ended in Drakeo, real name Darrell Caldwell, sustaining a knife wound to his neck.
Eyewitnesses who were backstage at the Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park pulled out their phones to record the unrest between Drakeo’s entourage and a group of gang members linked to rapper YG’s 4 Hunnid Bloods.

Eyewitnesses catch footage of Drakeo The Ruler fighting for his life
What was supposed to be an all-day affair, with Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent among the top-draw headliners scheduled to perform at Once Upon A Time in LA, ended abruptly with the death of Drakeo who, according to close associates, was ambushed by gang members linked to rapper YG.
According to LA police, alerts of the scuffle rang off at approximately 20:30 EST on Saturday 19 December 2021 (around 02:30 on Sunday 20 December 2021 in South Africa).
Per TMZ, California Highway Patrol and the fire department arrived at the scene when the gang groups had already dispersed and Drakeo was left fighting for his life on the roadway.
The rapper was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his wounds. This video clip was taken by an eyewitness who saw paramedics resuscitating Drakeo.

Any new updates on Drakeo killers?
At this juncture, a concerted effort is being made to locate the suspects involved in the death of Drakeo. LA homicide detectives have piles of video footage and other digital evidence to sift through, including claims made on Instagram by the Talk To Me rapper’s close associate, K7, who is adamant that YG had something to do with the murder.
LA police, however, have not said much at this time, only that “detectives are still trying to figure things out.”
A fan who was at the concert further escalated links to YG when he claimed that Drakeo was allegedly murdered by one of his friends.

Moreover, homicide detectives will most likely look into claims made by an unidentified male who goes by the name ‘number9theshooter on social media. The unknown male from Pacoima, California, has been posting cryptic messages on Instagram, suggesting that he may have had something to do with Drakeo’s death.
However, these claims could not be verified.

At this time, the death of Drakeo has not been linked to the murder of YG’s associate, Slim 400.
