Jeremy Mansfield shares health update: Here’s what he had to say
As per TimesLive, this was Mansfield’s first appearance since announcing that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in August 2022. The media mogul, best known for his radio appearances on 702 and 94.7 Highveld Stereo, is currently receiving palliative care around the clock in a hospice.
Mansfield made a brief appearance on Cowen’s Facebook. The 59-year-old beloved personality was cheerful despite obvious suffering and frailty. He smiled at the camera and said, “Good afternoon, bunnies,” one of his classic taglines.
Sam said:
“We’re doing this video because so many of you sent so many beautiful messages. I do read them to him and he does know, but Jeremy wanted to say thank you for a while, and today is the day he feels well enough to do it.”
While sharing his health update, Mansfield noted that every day is different:
“It’s up and down. Today is one of those up days.”
Jeremy also wished to arrange a zoom meeting so he could speak with his followers privately. Sadly, he would only be able to do it once he felt healthy enough. Fans filled the post’s comment section with well wishes and prayers.
Mansfield’s liver cancer is the latest in a string of health woes over the years. Having been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia in 2009, he overcame it. In 2017, he contracted a viral superbug and spent two months in the hospital.
He found a tumour on his spine a year later, which required two gruelling surgeries to remove.
