The murder of Takeoff is the subject of furore on social media, and video clips that have surfaced online seem to paint one of Quavo’s close associates, a man renowned as ‘Migo Bands’, as the alleged shooter.
Did Migo Bands murder Takeoff?
Takeoff, his uncle Quavo and their entourage were out at 810 Billiards and Bowling Station in downtown Houston, Texas, in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to videos posted by Quavo on Instagram, the crew, it seems, was celebrating one of their mate’s birthday.
Here’s a screenshot of one of the videos Quavo posted showing Migo Bands seated in the back, dressed in the same outfit as the man believed to have fired the fatal gunshots later that evening.
Everything was cordial until chaos broke out at the bowling alley shortly after 02:30. According to reports, Quavo was embroiled in a heated game of dice, where he allegedly lost more than $7 000 (est. R127 068).
Temperaments were high, and in the face of loss, it’s believed Quavo got into it with one of the men who, according to witnesses, was rubbing his streak of luck in the face of the Migos rapper.
That’s when tensions erupted into chaos. Earlier reports claimed the introduction of gunfire in the brawl came from the men Quavo and co. were feuding with. However, according to new details that have surfaced, along with video footage of the unrest captured by eyewitnesses, it seems the fiery aggression came from Quavo’s camp.
In a video clip leaked by TMZ, a man resembling Migo Bands was seen pulling out what appeared to be a firearm moments before gunshots rang off outside the bowling alley.

While no official confirmation has been made on Migo Bands’ culpability in Takeoff’s murder, Quality Control Music did confirm in a statement released on Tuesday that the Migo lyricist was the victim of “senseless violence and a stray bullet.”
Houston police, in a press statement released on Tuesday, confirmed that two other victims, a 23-year-old male and a 24-year-old female, were recovering from injuries sustained in the deadly shooting.
No persons have yet been arrested or charged with the murder of Takeoff. Migo Bands, an A&R manager at Quavo’s imprint label, Huncho Records, has yet to surface with a public statement addressing the mounting speculation. Takeoff fans have since flooded Migo Bands’ Instagram page, spamming his old posts with harsh accusations.
