Here are the latest updates on Takeoff murder
The rapper’s family and close associates have yet to come forward with a formal statement confirming what the world already knows. Reports that surfaced on social media suggest the rapper was with his uncle Quavious ‘Quavo‘ Marshall and several members of his crew when tragedy struck inside 810 Billiards & Bowling, a popular hangout spot situated in downtown Houston.
As reported by TMZ, law enforcement authorities confirmed the incident was reported shortly after 02:30 EST in the wee hours of Tuesday.
While details of the shooting have yet to be confirmed, several unnamed sources surfaced with stories about the events that allegedly led to Takeoff’s death.
According to reports, things got heated between an unidentified male and Quavo after the Hotel Lobby co-collaborator reportedly lost over $7 000 (est. R127 033) in a dice game.
It’s further alleged that one of the men Quavo was with pulled out a gun and started shooting wildly, striking Takeoff in the upper regions of his body. Moreover, it’s understood the goons involved in the scuffle with Quavo returned fire and struck his nephew at least two more times before fleeing the scene.
It’s said Takeoff collapsed after the first shot and died on the scene.
According to TMZ, two other people who were at the bowling alley were rushed to the hospital, and their condition remains unknown. Quavo, the man believed to be at the centre of the deadly shooting, was unharmed.
It’s presumed the suspects involved in the death of Takeoff are still at large, and according to Houston locals, there is every possibility that the Texas metropolis will be declared a no-fly zone.
