The South Africa weather forecast for Friday warns of damaging winds in parts of the Northern Cape and extreme fire danger conditions in the Khai-Ma Municipality and Beaufort West.
Weather warnings and advisories to take note of on Friday, 20 October 2023
A Yellow level 1 warning for damaging winds has been issued for the central interior and the southeast of the Northern Cape.
The winds are expected to affect transport routes and contribute to the blowing around of loose debris. Additionally, extremely high fire danger conditions are forecasted for the Khai-Ma Municipality of the Northern Cape and Beaufort West in the Western Cape.
An advisory is also in place for an intense low-pressure system combined with a high water table, expected to bring heavy downpours over the Eastern Cape. This could result in widespread pooling and flooding in the eastern half of the province.
