Former WWE wrestler Sara Lee died on Thursday, 6 October 2022, at the age of 30. Her mother has confirmed her death via a statement posted online.
Sara Lee dies: What’s the cause?
As per TMZ, Lee’s cause of death has not been revealed to the public. Taking to social media, her mother wrote:
“It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus.”
Furthermore, she revealed that funeral arrangements are still underway:
“We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn.”
Although Lee recently battled with what she described as a sinus infection, earlier this week, she wrote that she felt well enough to exercise.
“Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym [two] days in a row,” she captioned her post.
This would be her last post on the platform.
Sara Lee biography
Sara Ann Lee was born on 7 June 1992 in HopeTown, Michigan. After graduating from Meridian High School in 2010, she enrolled at Delta College in Bay City, Michigan, to study diagnostic medical sonography, The Wiki reports.
Lee was one of the 13 winners of the WWE competition Tough Enough’s sixth season in June 2015. After facing the danger of being eliminated five times throughout the competition, Lee and Josh Bredl were selected as the winners by fan vote in August of that year.
Due to their victory, each of them received a one-year WWE contract. In the championship match, Lee changed her name to Hope and lost to Alicia Fox in a singles match.
Furthermore, Lee began her training in September 2015. This came after she was assigned to the WWE’s developmental territory NXT. Returning to her real name, Lee made her debut for NXT on 16 January 2016 at a live event.
At the live event on 30 January 2016, she made her debut in the ring during a six-Diva tag team match. However, on 30 September 2016, Lee’s WWE contract was terminated.
Lee is survived by her husband, Wesley Blake, and their three children.
