In a newly released trailer for the upcoming instalment of The Kardashians, Khloe showed fans the large vertical incision on her left cheek, which was four centimetres long.
This was the result of the surgery she had undergone to remove melanoma, a type of skin cancer that is known for its aggressive nature. Khloe’s case was even more severe due to her predisposition to melanoma, having had surgery to remove it from her back 19 years ago.
The teaser showed the famous family’s reaction to her latest skin cancer scare, and they expressed their concerns about her well-being. Khloe’s younger sister Kylie Jenner was seen speaking to her and expressing her concern, while Kris Jenner shared her worries in a confessional.
Her friend Malika Haqq remarked that she had never seen Khloe so low, while her sister Kendall Jenner commented on her weight loss and lack of sleep.
Khloe herself reflected on the health scare, saying earnestly that melanoma is deadly and that the condition was way more serious than she anticipated. She had initially thought the small bump on her face was just a zit, but it turned out to be a tumour that needed to be removed immediately.
Khloe’s decision to speak out about her experience was aimed at encouraging others to get themselves checked if they spot anything unusual.
This is an important message, as skin cancer can be easily overlooked, and early detection is key to successful treatment. People need to be vigilant about their skin health and report any suspicious moles, bumps or changes to their doctor.
