Jack Harlow is well on his way to Hip-Hop glory and the three 2023 Grammy nominations he received for works on his album Come Home The Kids Miss You were a poignant statement on his place in the highly competitive genre.
Here’s how Jack Harlow reacted to three Grammy nominations
On Tuesday, the Recording Academy published the 2023 Grammy nominees, which included familiar names like Beyoncé, Adele and Kendrick Lamar, who leads the pack with a whopping eight nods.
One of the most controversial moments of Tuesday’s nominee announcement was the absence of Nicki Minaj. Despite the successful commercial performance of her hit single Super Freaky Girl, which spent more than 12 weeks on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart, peaking at No.1 in its debut week, Nicki was wholly snubbed in the rap categories.
Another contentious moment came when the Best Rap Album nominees were announced. At the 2023 Grammys, Future’s I Never Liked You will go up against DJ Khaled’s God Did, Kendrick Lamar’s Mr Morale and the Big Steppers, Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry and Harlow’s sophomore album.
For the most part, fans were outraged by the consideration of Future, Khaled and Harlow over the likes of Gunna’s DS2, Joey Bada$$’s 2000 and even Freddie Gibbs’ critically acclaimed Soul Sold Separately.
Not only is Harlow in contention for the Best Rap Album, but the Kentucky rapper was also nominated for Best Rap Song with Churchill Downs featuring Drake, who boycotted the ceremony by pulling his album out of consideration, as well as Best Melodic Rap Performance with First Class.
Amid the backlash, Harlow chose few words. In an Instagram post published after the 2023 Grammy nominee announcement, the rapper simply thanked his supporters with a mirror selfie.

The 65th annual Grammys will take place at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, California, on 5 February 2023.
