Doja Cat wants everyone to know that she is doing just fine. Days following the shaving of her head and eyebrows, the singer finally addressed her concerned fans.
Doja Cat addresses fans who called her “sick” for shaving her head and eyebrows
On Thursday, 4 August 2022, Doja hosted one of her famous Instagram Lives, in which she revealed her bald head and shaved her eyebrows while streaming. This created hysteria on the internet.
While she embraced her new look, some concerned fans believed that she was having a mental breakdown. Although she gave a thorough explanation for her actions, some people were still not convinced.
The Kiss Me More singer told her fans that she shaved off her hair because she was tired of working out in the gym while wearing wigs, which would become frizzy from perspiration.
She continued by saying that she wished she had shaved it sooner. People online, however, still had a hard time accepting that she was acting in a rational manner.
“I just do not like to have hair,” she said. “I would be working out, but I couldn’t focus because I was more concerned about how I looked. Or how my hair was doing, and how to keep it adhered to my scalp.”
The 26-year-old had to once more use social media to reassure people after being questioned so frequently.
“Everyone saying, ‘you’re on drugs,’ ‘you’re insane’, ‘why did she harm herself?’, ‘you must seek assistance’,’ she stated.
Doja labelled the remarks as “heavy” and was definitely not amused by those presumptions.
Later in the video, she acknowledged having health issues in the past but reassured her followers that this is not the case now.
“This isn’t a cry for help or an issue of any sort. This is just me having no hair. I’m still the same me,” she said while grinning.
In other Doja Cat news, the singer has also been recovering after tonsil surgery.
In May 2022, Doja revealed that she would have to cancel her festival appearances and The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn World Tour in order to have her tonsils removed.
She took to her Instagram to share the news, saying that she feels horrible but “can’t wait to recover and get back to making music.”
