American rapper Desiigner found himself at the centre of controversy after reportedly exposing himself on an international flight.
Desiigner admits he has mental issues after on-flight flashing blunder
TMZ Sources claim the incident occurred during a flight from Thailand and Tokyo to the United States, and that the rapper was scolded by a flight attendant before he was questioned by the police on landing in Minneapolis.
In a statement he released on social media, Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, attributed the incident to struggles with his mental health.
“For the past few months I have not been ok, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly,” he said.
According to the rapper, he had been feeling unwell during his travels and was prescribed medication that he believes caused a chemical imbalance.
“They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home,” Desiigner added.
The Panda rapper admitted to not thinking clearly during the incident and expressed his shame over his actions.
“I landed back to the states, and am admitting myself in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all of my shows and any obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If your not feeling like yourself please get help,” Desiigner wrote.
