N3 highway near Cato Ridge will be closed on Thursday, 10 December
The power utility advised motorists that it has been forced to cordon the area off to traffic for at least three hours from Thursday afternoon.
“Eskom hereby advises road users of the N3 road closure for about three hours whilst repairing the electricity line crossings that were damaged when lightning struck electricity structures around the Cato Ridge area earlier today,” the utility noted in a statement.
The repair work, Eskom added, is expected to carry on until 17:30. However, motorists have been warned to expect delays.
“The closure will affect traffic on both northbound and southbound carriageway of the N3 highway. Traffic officials will divert traffic off the N3,” the statement added.
