UPDATE Busta Rhymes solidified Cassper Nyovest’s claims on an Instagram post, where he is seen pictured with the South African rapper at a nightclub in London, UK. Just like Nyovest said, he indeed was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Mos Def and other entertainment icons.
What did MacG say about Cassper Nyovest?
The recent episode of the MacG podcast has been trending for the wrong reasons on social media. In particular, fans of the YouTube show were left gob-smacked by comments MacG and his co-host Sol Phenduka made about Nyovest.
While it’s public knowledge that Nyovest and MacG don’t particularly see eye-to-eye, fans of the podcast were certainly not expecting the former radiocaster to go on a rant about how bigger his brand was abroad compared to the Put Your Hands Up rapper.
Here is the viral clip where MacG blasts Nyovest as a local rapper not even Dame Dash, the co-founder of the legendary independent record label Roc-A-Fella, knows.
Naturally, Nyovest, who’se been in the United Kingdom (UK) since he released his highly-criticised Big Zulu diss track, 4 Steps Back, may have caught wind of the insults hurled by MacG.
In a Twitter thread, Nyovest recalled how he supposedly had the most legendary night of his life in London, rubbing shoulders with industry heavyweights who, contrary to MacG’s opinion, knew exactly who he was.
Well, everyone at the private party where no cameras were allowed knew Nyovest except Busta Rhymes. In fact, according to Nyovest, legendary comedian Dave Chappelle apparently came to his rescue when Rhymes allegedy pushed him to the side, thinking he was merely a regular fan.
“I moved respectfully, that’s when Dave Chappelle let him know who I was. Busta energy changed immediately, he then told this crazy story about meeting me through Swizzy and how it influenced his next album. MADNESS!” he tweeted.
According to Tsibip, what started out as a regular night where he pulled up to a venue to honour a friend’s request ended in absolute bliss.
“Me and Busta chopped it up soooooo long that we ended up being the last 2 people to leave the club,” he bragged, well awar of the noise taking place on Twitter in his name.
Of course, social media had a field day with the quiet feud between Nyovest and MacG. Here are some of the reactions we picked out:
