Britney Spears responded to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, after his public claims stating she is estranged from their sons. Kevin said that the boys have intentionally not seen their mom for months.
Federline and Spears share two sons together: Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.
Federline dropped a few bombshells in his interview with The Daily Mail. His comments about his ex-wife and her relationship with their sons went viral on social media.
“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now. It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.” Federline said.
Federline also alleges that the boys don’t like her “nude photos” on Instagram.
“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself. But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough. I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”
Federline also shocked fans by saying he’d welcome Jamie Spears (Britney Spear’s father) back into his sons’ lives. This is despite the restraining order he has against Jamie after an alleged conflict with one of the kids.
This statement was highly controversial due to the lengthy conservatorship battle between Britney and her father.
Britney Spears broke her silence on Kevin’s claims
The singer slammed her ex-husband for publicly discussing her relationship with her children in the interview. Spears reacted to Federline’s statements in an Instagram Story post on Saturday, 6 August 2022.
“It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children.
“Only one word: Hurtful. It was LONG before Instagram … I gave them everything. I’ll say it … My mother told me ‘You should GIVE them to their dad.’ I’m sharing this because I can. Have a good day folks!!!” the singer wrote.
Sam Asghari claps back at Britney’s ex
Sam Asghari, Britney’s husband, also spoke out against the claims made by Federline. He took to his social media account to express his support for Spears.
“There is no validity to his statement regarding the kids distancing themselves and it is irresponsible to make that statement publicly.
“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the ‘tough’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model.” Asghari stated.
In an Instagram Story post, he spoke out about his wife’s Instagram. He declared the images and videos she shares online are more “modest” than advertisements or posts shared by others.
Asghari also clapped back at Federline for allegedly depending on Spears for income and for supporting her conservatorship.
“Kevin’s gravy train will end soon which probably explains the timing of these hurtful statements. I do not know him personally and have nothing against him aside him choosing to vilify my wife. His character is revealed by approval of the cruel 13 year [conservatorship] and his loyalty to Jaimie indicates his approval at time of its conception as well,” he said.
