Popstar, Billie Eilish (19) was seen mouthing an anti-Asian slur in an old video, which resurfaced and went viral on TikTok. She then posted an apology on Instagram captioned, “I am being labelled as something I am not.”

Eilish took the time to apologise on her Instagram Stories. Describing one of the clips, Eilish says,
“I mouthed a word from a song that at the time I didn’t know was a derogatory term used against members of the Asian community. I am appalled and embarrassed and want to barf that I ever mouthed along to that word.
“Regardless of my ignorance and age at the time, nothing excuses the fact is that it was hurtful. And for that I am sorry.”
The singer emphasizes that she was just speaking gibberish and not trying to mock anyone. She added that she has sought to use her celebrity and her platform to push for inclusion and kindness, along with tolerance and equality.

According to Eilish, in the TikTok video posted, she was 13 or 14 years old. The video consists of several clips that have been edited together to highlight different scenes. According to WFUV, the video was posted by a TikTok user named @lcxvy and had been viewed more than a million times.

It appears to be from the song “Fish” by Tyler The Creator. According to Public Radio Tulsa, the user that posted the video claimed, in later posts, that she is a huge fan of Eilish and did not want to “cancel” the singer, but she wanted Eilish to address the recordings.
