American alt-rapper Azealia Banks courted backlash over a string of bizarre Instagram Story posts, where she chillingly celebrated the untimely death of Wild ‘N Out model Ms Jacky Oh.
Azealia Banks celebrates Ms Jacky Oh’s death
Ms Jacky Oh, real name Jacklyn Smith, died while on a mommy makeover trip in Miami, Florida, on 31 May 2023.
Smith, who was the longtime partner of comedian and Wild ‘N Out co-host DC Young Fly, was found unresponsive at the Homewood Suites and transported to a hospital in downtown Miami, where she died before midnight.
As the industry still reels from the shocking death, Banks went on a bizarre rant, bizarrely claiming some responsibility for Smith’s tragedy.
Banks blasted DC Young Fly for “disguising his own deeply rooted hatred of self as jokes pointed at women’s beauty,” in this case, referencing the embarrassing moment she cried on TV during a Wild ‘N Out episode.
“Say what you want about my tears. They were pure tears of rage. And not at all a sign of weakness. Because in the end… I won,” she exclaimed.
Banks, totally disregarding the sensitive nature of the tragedy, accused Smith of being “deeply insecure about herself.”
“Dead at 32 exactly on my 32nd birthday, May 31st, 2023, in Miami, FL. You n****s are going to learn to stop f*****g with me,” she wrote.
Suffice it to say, Banks’ insensitive rant was met with utter disdain on social media.
