Baldwin bid farewell to the project by shaving off his beard and expressing his relief in returning to his usual appearance.
Late Monday night, Baldwin took to social media to share his clean-shaven look, remarking, “God, it felt good to shave off that beard…” Throughout the production of the low-budget Western, the actor sported a considerable amount of facial hair.”
In his post, Baldwin also gave a shout-out to his co-star Patrick Scott McDermott, acknowledging McDermott’s previous appearances on “Chicago Med” and a sketch on ‘SNL,’ hinting at the positive working relationship they shared.
Following the tragic shooting incident that claimed Halyna Hutchins’ life in October 2021, production of “Rust” came to a halt. There were doubts about whether the film would be completed, but filming resumed last month, allowing the project to reach its conclusion.
The production team relocated from New Mexico, where the unfortunate incident occurred, to Montana, where they found a Western town setting resembling their original location.
In the final weeks of filming, glimpses of the production revealed scenes involving Alec Baldwin’s character, including a dramatic sequence where he is led to the gallows, suggesting a pivotal moment in the gunslinger’s storyline.
While filming in Montana, Baldwin was seen handling firearms, evoking a sombre tone considering the tragic events surrounding Hutchins’ death.
Baldwin consistently maintained that he did not pull the trigger of the prop gun, and the involuntary manslaughter charges against him were dropped by prosecutors before filming resumed.
With “Rust” now wrapped up, anticipation grows for its eventual release and the attention it will garner when it is presented to audiences worldwide.
