Social media was in a frenzy when our beloved Queen Sono star shared a video that seemed pretty serious.
She appeared quite distressed, confessing she was emotionally damaged and in need of support from her friends. Everyone was worried, to say the least.
But, plot twist! Pearl recently doubled back and flipped the script, saying she’s actually totally fine. Yep, that whole emotional plea? Just a joke, apparently.
She’s got a new beehive, her dog’s giving her cuddles, and she’s prepping for a flight. So, no need to panic, folks.
Pearl made it clear in her follow-up video that she was just pulling our leg because of some stuff that went down during the week. She even ended her video with “ani dlaliswa,” which is basically her saying, “you guys can’t take a joke.”
Pearl’s not the only one in the celeb world backtracking on a joke gone wrong. Minnie Dlamini, another big name in the industry, had to do some damage control herself.
After a bit of a mishap on her show Homeground, where she made a joke about her ex, Itumeleng Khune, Minnie had to clarify that it was all in good fun.
Dlamini faced a bit of heat on social media after her comment about Khune.
She quickly clarified that her opening monologue on the show is meant to be light-hearted and entertaining, focusing on herself, social commentary, and trending topics. Her message? “It’s not that deep.”
