Eskom published the weekend loadshedding schedule starting on Friday, which forecasts reduced stages of rotational outages.

On Thursday, Eskom announced that rotational power outages will be temporarily suspended “as a result of the continued good generation fleet performance and the expected lower weekend demand.”
The power utility confirmed that loadshedding will remain suspended until 16:00 on Monday, 23 October 2023, barring any unforeseen disruptions.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
The last state of the power system update was on Thursday, 19 October 2023. At the time, Eskom reported more than 12 925MW of generation capacity lost to breakdowns, with an additional 4 889MW offline due to several units placed out of commission for planned maintenance.
