Jonathan Majors is back in court, facing domestic violence charges, as New York prosecutors reveal connections to a London assault case.
New developments point to alleged London assault case
According to recent court documents first seen by Rolling Stone UK, prosecutors disclosed that they obtained a police report from London’s Metropolitan Police related to an undisclosed incident in September 2022 involving Majors.
The nature of the police report remains unclear. Still, it is known that the woman’s medical records and subsequent treatment have also been obtained by prosecutors in the Grace Jabbari assault case.
A hurdle for prosecutors, however, will be convincing the court that evidence of an earlier assault on an unidentified woman from London holds enough weight to decline Majors’s dismissal application, considering the said victim never filed a criminal case against the actor.
Moreover, Metropolitan Police are also mum on the situation, having declined to comment on the matter until charges are filed.
Jonathan Majors wants Grace Jabbari assault case thrown out of court
New York prosecutors have also accused Majors’ legal team of various publicity stunts.
These include leaking and misrepresenting evidence and attempting to have the NYPD release a “wanted flyer” for Majors’ ex-girlfriend.
The actor’s attorney, Priya Chaudhry, has consistently denied these claims, stating that substantial evidence supports Majors’ case.
The 34-year-old actor was initially arrested in March 2023 for allegedly assaulting Grace Jabbari.
He faces misdemeanour charges of assault, attempted assault, and aggravated harassment and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.
The case has since generated significant public attention, amplified by Majors’s budding relationship with Megan Good and his return to screens as the arch-villain in Loki Season 2.
Will Grace Jabbari face criminal charges?
In June, Majors filed a police report against his ex-girlfriend, alleging she attacked him.
Despite this, prosecutors state they will decline to prosecute any charges against the woman based on Majors’ accusations.
“A thorough investigation was conducted into the facts of this case, and the People have chosen to prosecute Jonathan Majors,” prosecutors asserted in court documents.
