The 2024 Grammy Awards brought its usual dose of shockers, shimmies, and show-stoppers. From Killer Mike’s headline-making arrest post-triple win to Tyla‘s historic first Grammy for ‘Water,’ the night was nothing short of spectacular. Let’s dive into the details and dish out the complete list of who took home the gold.

Starting off with a moment that’ll be GIF-ed for generations, Killer Mike turned his triple win into a triple whammy by getting arrested right after his victory lap.
Talk about going out with a bang. Details about the arrest were unclear, but sources revealed Mike was allegedly involved in a physical altercation at the venue and was taken into custody for ‘questioning’.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s very own Tyla made waves by snagging her first Grammy for ‘Water,’ pouring more success into the country’s Grammy cup.
Taylor Swift, not surprisingly, added another trophy to her case, winning Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights. Miley Cyrus’s Flowers blossomed into the Record of the Year, while the Alternative Music Album category saw Boygenius winning with The Record. The Best New Artist accolade was grabbed by Victoria Monét, proving that fresh talent is always ripe for recognition.
Billie Eilish’s What Was I Made For? clinched Song of the Year, with its haunting melody and lyrical depth. In a twist of beats, the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album went to Fred again.. for Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022), shaking up the dance floor with every track.
The night was also a celebration of diversity, with awards spanning genres and borders. Lainey Wilson took home Best Country Album for ‘Bell Bottom Country,’ and Ludwig Göransson’s score for ‘Oppenheimer‘ was deemed the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. The Best African Music Performance went to Tyla for ‘Water,’ and Peso Pluma won Best Música Mexicana Album with ‘Génesis.’
