Rihanna is set to perform at the 2022/2023 NFL Super Bowl Halftime show and we have all the details you need about how to watch the event live in South Africa.
2022/2023 NFL: What you need to know about the final
The 2022/2023 NFL final takes place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, US, with the Kansas City Chiefs up against the fierce Philadelphia Eagles.
The permutations of this final are not lost on fans of the sport. For instance, Andy Reid, who coaches the Chiefs will face his former team he left in 2012, after a 14-year tenure.
Also, Donna Kelce is the mother of Travis and Jason Kelce, two brothers who will go up against each other for top honours, in what’s regarded as a first-for-NFL moment.
Heading into the final, the Chiefs are favourites to take the trophy home.
However, speaking on the game on USA Today, Lorenzo Reyes, a renowned NFL reporter, picked the Eagles to cause a great upset due to their uncanny ability “to grind out games in the playoffs.”
“It all starts up front with the offensive line. The Eagles have the most complete unit in the NFL and — with the emergence of Kenneth Gainwell — feature four players who can get in open space in the ground game.
“And though star receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have been relatively quiet in the playoffs, they are both capable of explosive plays down the field against the Kansas City secondary that sometimes yields big plays in the passing game,” he said.
How to watch Rihanna Super Bowl Halftime show live in South Africa
The 2022/2023 NFL Super Bowl will be split into four 15-minute quarters, and after the second outing, Rihanna will take centre stage at the State Farm arena to deliver her much-anticipated Halftime performance.
Speaking to Nadeska at the NFL Halftime press conference earlier this week, the Work singer, who’s reportedly gearing up to go on tour after her NFL gig, opened up about the monumental task of compressing her entire career into a 13-minute performance.
“The set list was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest hardest part. Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what this show’s gonna be, it’s gonna be a celebration of my catalogue in the best way we could have put it together.
“And you only have 13 minutes, that’s the challenge, so you’re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes. So it’s difficult. You know, some songs we have to lose because of that, and that’s gonna be okay. But I think we did a pretty good job of narrowing it down,” she said.
