The 2023 Cotton Fest takes place in a few days and we’ve got all the information you need about dates, the venue, the lineup and how to buy tickets.
2023 Cotton Fest dates and venue confirmed
The fourth annual music festival returns to Johannesburg in February 2022, following a successful franchise launch in Cape Town this past December.
In 2023, the Joburg installation takes place on Saturday, 4 February, at The Station (Carr Street & Nelson Mandela Bridge, Newtown, JHB).
Fans of the festival which was the brainchild of the late Rikhado ‘Riky Rick‘ Makhado will expect the usual top-draw entertainment, from some of the best up-and-coming talent to South Africa’s top-tier artists.

Apart from high-octane performances, the 2023 Cotton Fest will also include:
- a retail store (The Tuckshop);
- an unconventional sports area (live skateboard competition);
- a food court (University Cafeteria);
- a customisation station;
- a half-court basketball contest; and
- a live art installation.

This time around, the 2023 Cotton Fest will feature more than 160 South African artists on the roster, including a-listers such as A-Reece, Anatii, Blxckie, Cassper Nyovest, DJ Maphorisa and more.
