Three men accused of the murder of Rand Water executive Teboho Joala and his bodyguard, Sifiso Shange, were unveiled in the Lenasia Magistrates Court, on Monday.
What we know about the Teboho Joala murder suspects
The suspects, Khulekani Mduli, Zamokuhle Ntombela, and Lindani Mtshali, are currently facing two counts of premeditated murder in addition to three counts of attempted murder.
Each has obtained private legal counsel and has expressed intentions to file for bail.
Their next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, 29 April 2024, when they will formally apply for bail. Until then, all three remain in custody, awaiting further legal action.

The backdrop to this case is a tragic event that unfolded at Zakariyya Park Civic Hall, located south of Johannesburg, in January.
Teboho Joala was addressing an assembly of primary school learners about back-to-school initiatives when he and his bodyguard were fatally shot.
The incident occurred in the presence of numerous pupils, whose psyche was forever altered by the callous nature of the murders.
Following intensive investigations, the Gauteng serious and violent crime investigation murder and robbery team made a breakthrough on Thursday, 18 April 2024, when a suspect was intercepted on his way from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) to Gauteng, and taken into custody.
This arrest led to the apprehension of two more suspects who were hiding in KZN, bringing the total number of arrests to four.
One additional suspect, Ayanda Ngwenya, was arrested on 13 March 2024 and charged with possession of a firearm believed to have been used in the murders.
His case was postponed to 16 May 2024.
