The Mopani District Police in Tzaneen are actively searching for four unidentified male suspects following the reported rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Mopani suspects wanted for alleged abduction and rape of teen
According to police reports, the young victim left her home in Mopje village, Bolobedu, on Friday evening to spend time with friends at a local bar.
After several hours, around 02:00 on Saturday, she left the lounge to visit a nearby tavern.
It was during this short journey that a red vehicle with four armed men approached her.
The men, brandishing firearms, forcibly took her into their vehicle and drove to a remote location in the bushes where they assaulted her.
How did the victim escape?
After the assault, the perpetrators fled the scene, leaving the victim alone in the bushes.
Despite her ordeal, the brave young girl managed to reach the main road where a passing motorist found her and assisted her to the Tzaneen police station.
There, she reported the incident, and the police initiated an investigation immediately.
The Mopani police have launched a comprehensive manhunt for the suspects. A case of rape has been opened, and efforts to identify and capture the assailants are underway.
