The trial of Michael Ncube, a Krugersdorp resident facing charges of human trafficking, rape, sexual assault, kidnapping, and impersonating a police officer, has begun at the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.

As reported by News24, it is alleged that Ncube systematically targeted young boys from impoverished backgrounds, luring and exploiting them under the guise of a police officer.
Prosecutors claim that Michael Ncube employed various methods to lure his victims into his grasp:
- Using His Minor Son: Ncube is said to have used his own minor son to entice some of the victims to his home, gaining their trust through this association.
- False Pretenses: In one instance, he reportedly invited a young boy to his house under the pretext of a birthday party for his son. He also allegedly asked a complainant’s mother for permission to host a sleepover party.
- Impersonating a Police Officer: The State alleges that Ncube impersonated a police officer to manipulate and intimidate the boys, exerting power and control over them.

Michael Ncube stands accused of a range of serious charges, including:
- five counts of trafficking;
- six counts of rape;
- six counts of sexual assault;
- four counts of impersonating a police officer;
- two counts of assault;
- one count of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm; and
- one count of kidnapping.
Timeline of When Michael Ncube Allegedly Raped His Victims
The indictment reveals a disturbing timeline of Ncube’s alleged crimes:
- 2014-2018: During this four-year period, Ncube is accused of repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting a friend of his son, who was only 12 years old at the time.
- 2022: Ncube’s youngest alleged victim, an 11-year-old boy, is said to have been molested by him in January.
- 2022: In February, another victim, an orphan living with his grandfather, was allegedly taken by Ncube to buy clothes before being raped.
Ncube has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
