All eyes will be on the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court when Kelly, her boyfriend Jacquen Appollis, a man named Steveno van Rhyn and another woman Phumza Sigaqa, mount the dock, on Wednesday.
The quartet is charged with the alleged kidnapping and trafficking of the six-year-old, who was last seen alive on Monday, 19 February 2024.
Wednesday’s court proceedings will, for the most part, deal with bail information.

What’s the latest in the search for Joshlin?
When this article was published, Joshlin Smith had been missing for 23 days.
The six-year-old disappeared from the Saldanha Bay area, approximately 120 kilometres north of Cape Town, South Africa, on Monday, 19 February 2024.
In the past week, specialised SAPS search teams, in collaboration with several law enforcement authorities, as well as private security and tech units, have escalated efforts to track down leads.
On Tuesday, speaking to reporters, provincial commissioner Thembisile Patekile confirmed that DNA test results of the blood found on pieces of clothing police recovered from an expansive sand dune in Saldanha Bay were handed over to investigators.
However, authorities have yet to confirm if the blood-stained clothing was, in any way, linked to Joshlin Smith.
“We are meeting this afternoon with the forensic lab, so, we don’t know what to expect from them. Tomorrow when there’s a bail application, we will be knowing then,” Patekile said.
The search for Joshlin Smith continues with a team of detectives visiting several places within Saldanha Bay and interviewing multiple individuals.
The six-year-old was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and blue denim jeans.
