Cape Town ‘pro-black’ group to slaughter sheep on Queen Elizabeth funeral
Her Majesty will be laid to rest in a funeral ceremony that will be attended by global leaders, including South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa.
While, on Monday, the United Kingdom (UK) and the rest of the Commonwealth will bid farewell to the 96-year-old at Westminster Abbey, in Cape Town, the BPNCC will host a “sheep slaughter to escort Elizabeth Windsor to hell.”
“We do not mourn the death of a coloniser, we celebrate,” the pro-black group wrote.
In a statement released on Thursday, 8 September 2022, the day Queen Elizabeth II’s death was announced, the BPNCC welcomed what it termed “the long overdue death of the colonial queen extraordinaire, Elizabeth Windsor.”
“We will be slaughtering a sheep to accompany her to the nearest hell. Please stay tuned to our social media pages for updates,” the group wrote on Facebook at the time.
The ‘Queen is dead’ party will be hosted by the group at a popular social hangout spot situated on Spine Road, Khayelitsha, at 15:00 on Monday.
“We do not mourn the death of Elizabeth, because to us her death is a reminder of a very tragic period in this country and Africa’s history,” the group noted on the event flyer that’s gone viral on social media.
The sentiments of the BPNCC were echoed by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in a fiery statement released the day after Her Majesty’s passing. The Julius Malema-led political party blasted the Queen’s legacy “as one of pain and suffering, of death and dispossession, and of dehumanisation of African people.”
“If there is really life and justice after death, may Elizabeth and her ancestors get what they deserve,” the party exclaimed.
