Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis released a joint statement in response to allegations their ex-nanny made about the supposed rough ending of their engagement.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis speak out against nanny’s allegations
On Monday, 17 October 2022, the Daily Mail published an interview with a former employee of the pair, who chose to remain anonymous. The nanny claimed in the report that the couple broke off their seven-year engagement after Wilde started filming her movie Don’t Worry Darling and that the two argued frequently.
“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly,” the pair said, “her now 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.”
In another claim, the unidentified nanny said that Wilde dumped Sudeikis for Harry Styles shortly after shooting her film. The nanny claimed that Wilde “put the move on” Styles. Upon learning of it, Sudeikis banned the English singer’s music at their home.
Wilde and Styles were first romantically linked in January 2021. Rumours of an affair broke out when they were seen holding hands at his friend Jeff Azoff’s wedding in California.
Eventually, according to the nanny, things got so bad that Sudeikis tried to stop Wilde from seeing Styles by throwing himself under her car.
Wilde, it’s said, also prepared a salad for Styles in the family kitchen using her “special dressing.” Moreover, the nanny added that Sudeikis reportedly drank heavily and struggled to come to terms with the breakup.
According to the nanny, Sudeikis fired her when he learned she had texted Wilde. In her words, Sudeikis was “drunk and enraged.”
Despite Wilde and Sudeikis’ relationship ending almost two years ago, co-parenting their two children has been a hot topic.
During an appearance at CinemaCon in April 2022, Wilde was served custody papers for their children while leading a keynote on the trailer for her self-directed movie.
Wilde and Sudeikis’ relationship timeline
Wilde and Sudeikis first met at a party in 2011, People reports.
Nine months prior, Olivia had ended her eight-year marriage to Italian-American filmmaker Tao Ruspoli. Sudeikis, on the other hand, had just divorced screenwriter Kay Cannon, whom he was married to from 2004 to 2010.
By November of that year, six months after the first meeting, Sudeikis and Wilde started dating.
They got engaged over the holidays in 2012 but did not confirm the exciting news until January 2013. In 2014 and 2016, the couple welcomed two children: a son, Otis, and a daughter, Daisy, respectively.
The pair ended their relationship in late 2020 and have been co-parents ever since.
