The controversy involves a 13-year-old Grade 8 learner who was prevented from attending class due to a disagreement over the school’s hair policy.
As reported by Sowetan, the incident unfolded when the learner was allegedly removed from class for wearing hair extensions, which were reportedly prohibited by the school’s recently implemented hair policy.
In the video, the learner’s mother asserts that her child’s hair is natural dreadlocks, not extensions.
Tensions escalated when a man, believed to be the principal’s husband, was seen forcefully interacting with both the learner and her parents, leading to a physical altercation.
The video captured the man pushing the learner and her parent out of the classroom, prompting accusations of assault and improper conduct.
