The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced Turkish Airlines as an official partner of the UEFA Champions League. The announcement came on Monday, 5 September 2022.
Turkish Airlines named as sponsor for UEFA: Here’s what we know
As reported by FTN News, this prestigious partnership will be one of the most important sponsorship deals in the history of Turkish sports.
This season’s UEFA Champions League final will take place at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium on Saturday, 10 June 2023.
Turkish Airlines will provide greater access to fans to watch their favourite teams compete.
As part of the agreement, Turkish Airlines’ logo will be placed on many fields and LED screens before, during, and after the match broadcast.
The airline will also partner with the UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Futsal Champions League finals, and the UEFA Youth League finals.
However, this is not the first time they have partnered with a UEFA competition. Previously, the airline became the first airline company in the world to cooperate with UEFA with its official airline sponsorship in UEFA EURO 2016, which took place in France.
Turkish Airlines joins Heineken, PlayStation, PepsiCo, Mastercard, FedEx, Just Eat Takeaway.com, and OPPO as official global sponsors of the UEFA Champions League.
The flag carrier has sponsored many sports teams, such as Barcelona, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, River Plate, and Olympique Marseille.
