Tiger Brands was forced into its second recall of 2022, this time around, alerting customers about a batch of its Purity and Elizabeth Anne baby products which, it believes, are contaminated with traces of asbestos.
These Tiger Brands baby products are being recalled
In a statement quoted News24, Tiger Brands confirmed that “trace levels of asbestos were detected in test samples of the talc raw material used in these products.”
While it’s unclear how much of the products listed below are contaminated, Tiger Brands is taking no chances. Customers are encouraged to return these products to stores or pharmacies where they were purchased from Thursday, 8 September 2022, for a full cash refund or coupon:

This is the second time Tiger Brands has been forced to recall its products in two months.
Back in July 2022, the manufacturer suffered a blow in its reputation when batches of its KOO and Hugo’s canned foods produced between 1 May 2019 to 5 May 2021 had to be recalled due to “a defective side seam.”
“The cans may have a defective side seam weld that could cause the can to leak. The company identified the issue as part of its internal quality assurance processes,” the company’s statement read at the time.
