Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has been publicly smeared as an alleged serial rapist by a woman who claims to be his former lover.
Rape accuser details how she was allegedly assaulted by Thomas Partey
Known only by her Twitter username, @deffonotchaur, the woman sent the internet into an uproar when she blasted the Gunners midfielder for allegedly forcing his privates down her throat when she was passed out drunk during a birthday trip to Ibiza, Spain, in 2021.
According to the accuser, she had been dating Partey around the same time he was reportedly romantically involved with Sara Bella, a social media model who recently sent shockwaves across the internet with her own claims of sexual assault against the footballer.
The unidentified woman claimed her decision to break her silence, effectively contravening a non-disclosure agreement that may cost her £200 000 (est. R4 million), came when her lawyers informed her case against Partey was thrown out of court due to a technicality.
“Finding out your rapist will get off on a legal technicality is the most soul destroying thing ever. A whole year of my life dedicated to therapy sessions and police interviews to try and make sure I was strong enough to see him go to jail for what he did to me has now fallen on the back of a 10 day gap between new legislation being put in place and when the offence occurred.
“I’ve already called my lawyers to let them know I don’t give a f*** about the libel and defamation threats I’ve been getting for speaking out. Or having to give back the money that was used to pay me off… rapists shouldn’t be allowed to get off on technicalities,” she wrote in a series of tweets.
Details around the alleged incident are unclear. However, from what the rape accuser has detailed on social media, it’s alleged Partey forcibly performed oral sex on the woman while she was passed out drunk and, even worse, video evidence of the text exchange between the two, where the Ghanian international player seemingly acknowledges his actions, leaked online.
What has Arsenal’s response been?
Partey, who joined his teammates late into Arsenal’s pre-season tour, has enjoyed immunity from persecution by his club and its supporters. In fact, at this juncture, the London football club has not issued a public response to the damning allegations made by the woman.
According to @deffonotchaur, the club is aware of the rape scandal, and when she’d brought the matter up with them, she was allegedly told nothing could be done since she was over the age of 18
“My family are [Arsenal] supporters. I had to move out of the home I lived in my entire life because I couldn’t bear to hear my stepdad cheering for him in matches… or being afraid to leave my room incase I hear his name mentioned on a podcast,” she tweeted.
Has Thomas Partey responded to rape allegations?
Partey has not, as things stand, responded to the sexual assault allegations. The footballer is currently closing off the last round of Arsenal’s pre-season tour before the commencement of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
