Queen Elizabeth II’s four children stood united to mourn their mother’s passing during the Royal Procession.
Her Majesty’s coffin proceeded down Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, a thoroughfare through the old city, to St. Giles’ Cathedral.
King Charles III followed on foot, along with his three siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew.
Queen Elizabeth II’s children unite for Royal Procession: Here’s what we know
As reported by CBS News, on Monday, 12 September 2022, the four siblings walked together behind the procession of the late monarch’s coffin. The coffin travelled from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St. Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The siblings walked quietly behind the hearse as it carried the Queen’s flag-draped coffin to the church for a service of thanksgiving commemorating her historic 70-year reign.

King Charles, Anne, and Edward all donned military uniforms during the procession. However, Andrew wore a suit. The Navy veteran has been barred from wearing his military garments until his mother’s final vigil at Westminster Hall.
This is because the disgraced second son of Queen Elizabeth is no longer a working member of the Royal Family.
Earlier this year, Andrew was stripped of his military affiliations and Royal patronages by the Queen after being sued by Virginia Giuffre. Guiffre alleged that the Duke of York sexually abused her when she was 17 years old.
The Royal Procession: What comes next?
Once the Queen’s coffin made it inside the cathedral, the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon placed the Crown of Scotland on top of it.
The King led his family member’s in the Vigil of the Princes beside the Queen’s coffin.
The Queen’s coffin will remain at the cathedral until Tuesday, 13 September 2022. This gives the public a chance to pay their respects. The Queen’s coffin will be flown to London on Tuesday evening.
