Nestle South Africa sent shockwaves across social media when, on Thursday, they announced the ‘voluntary’ recall of specific batches of Kit Kat chocolate products.
Nestle Kit Kat recall: Are there glass pieces in chocolate bars?
In a statement, the manufacturer revealed that while no complaints or injuries have yet been reported, the recall was initiated as a cautionary measure after small pieces of glass were discovered during quality and safety checks.
Nestle added that the Kit Kat recall is limited to products that were manufactured and distributed nationwide over a specific period and doesn’t implicate variants not listed below.
“No other sizes and variants of KIT KAT products (Dark chocolate and White chocolate) are affected by this recall. Milk chocolate KIT KAT products with different production codes from those listed here are not affected by this recall either,” the manufacturer said.
