Hamilton Ndlovu‘s opulent collection of luxury vehicles is set to go under the hammer on an upcoming auction date.
When is Hamilton Ndlovu luxury vehicle auction date?
This event follows the high-profile revelation that Ndlovu secured substantial personal protective equipment (PPE) contracts worth approximately R172 million through entities associated with him, linked both directly and indirectly to the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS).
Park Village Auctions, acting under the instructions of the appointed curator bonis, Hamilton Projects CC, will facilitate the auction of numerous high-performance supercars, luxurious sport SUVs, as well as approximately 150 passenger and commercial vehicles.
These assets have been obtained through bank repossessions and asset forfeiture proceedings.
Among the notable vehicles available for bidding are a Porsche Panamera GTS Sport, a Porsche Cayenne S Coupe, a Grand Cherokee SRT, and a Lamborghini Urus, exuding both power and elegance.
The auction is scheduled to take place on the designated date of Wednesday, 5 July 2023, providing interested buyers with an opportunity to acquire these coveted luxury vehicles.
How Ndlovu’s life of luxury was exposed as a COVID-19 scam
Hamilton Ndlovu gained significant media attention in 2020 when he flaunted his impressive fleet of luxury cars on social media, including a Jeep Grand Cherokee, three Porsches, and a Lamborghini Urus.
A subsequent investigation conducted by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) revealed that Ndlovu had personally benefited from PPE tenders awarded by the NHLS, allegedly pocketing nearly 90% of the R172 million contracts.
The SIU’s findings unveiled a trail of lavish spending by Ndlovu, including substantial amounts expended on vehicles, real estate, furnishings, and investments. Shockingly, it was discovered that approximately R16 million had been withdrawn in cash.
The SIU’s probe determined that Ndlovu had exploited emergency procurement procedures established to address the Covid-19 pandemic, securing 19 contracts through illicit means.
In September 2021, the SIU and the NHLS obtained a Special Tribunal order aimed at preventing Ndlovu from disposing of his assets valued at R42 million.
This legal action sought to recover public funds that were allegedly siphoned from the state through acts of corruption, fraud, and illicit financial flows.
During a ruling on 7 June 2022, Judge Lebogang Modiba ordered the auction or sale of all assets owned by Ndlovu and his affiliated companies to reclaim the outstanding debt owed to the NHLS.
The tribunal further decreed the forfeiture of preserved properties and funds, amounting to R42 million, belonging to Ndlovu, Zaisan Kaihatsu, and Bugatti Security Services and Projects, to the state.
