The release date for the Google Pixel 5a has been finally revealed and the phone has some awesome design, features, as well as specifications, which include waterproof, 5G speed, and a dual-camera system.
Pixel 5a specs and features
The A-series of the Google Pixel devices will have IP67 water and dust resistance. A little splash won’t damage your phone. This, however, doesn’t mean that you should submerge your phone in water. Take a shower with it. Or get inside a swimming pool with it.
The 5G features of the Pixel 5a, which include a high-performing dual-camera system with a rear-facing ultrawide lens, allow the phone to capture even a huge field of view. It has the Portrait Light feature which creates quality lighting for your portraits and will make them look they were taken by a pro, and a Cinematic Pan to make your videos look steady. You can also capture anything, from streetlights to the night skies, using the Night Sight and astrophotography.
The phone has fast-charging features, as well as a large battery that lasts quite longer — up to 48 hours on a single charge.
The 5G speed of the 5a allows you to download stuff at a fast speed. It will also have a Duo Screen Sharing in HD, which means everyone on your call can view the same video.
Google Pixel 5a: Release date and price
The phone is not available as yet in other parts of the world such as South Africa. However, it is available in the US and Japan for pre-order.
Starting from 26 August 2021, the phone will be shipping from Google Stores, as well as via Google Fi, but only in the US and Japan.
The Pixel 5a costs $449 (which is about R6 800), which doesn’t sound bad at all. It’s quite a fair bargain, to say the least.
