Who is Zanele Potwela?
Raised in East London, Potelwa grew up in a big and tight-knit family.
Her father is a medical professional, and she initially decided she also wanted to work in health sciences. However, she felt that radio was more her scene.
Zanele pursued her love of radio by signing up for one of 5FM’s five-day mentorships while a student at the University of Pretoria, where she impressed the station’s management.
From working in the background at the station to working for a rival broadcaster, Potelwa found her way back to 5FM and has now stepped out of the background. Furthermore, she hosted the popular weekday breakfast showThe Roger Goode Show and the popular 10:00 until 14:00 Sunday slot.
Patwela now hosts the 5FM Lunch show on weekdays between 12:00 and 15:00.
SAMA announce two more hosts
Musician Robot Boii and comedian Mpho Popps will be joining Nandi Madida and Lawrence Maleka as the hosts for the 2022 SAMA awards. Mpho Popps made quite an impression after hosting the Roast of Khanyi Mbau earlier this month.
