South African-born comedian Trevor Noah is moving on to greener pastures, and it seems, right after he announced his impending exit from The Daily Show, his next project may be exploring the depths of his connection to Dua Lipa.
Trevor Noah seen getting cosy with Dua Lipa
The 38-year-old had social media sherlocks working overtime to piece together clues about a possible romance between him and the European songstress after they were caught on camera exchanging smooches on a fine night out in New York City on Wednesday, 28 September 2022.
According to sources who spilt the tea to DailyMail, Noah and Lipa went on a date at a popular Jamaican restaurant, and everything about their chemistry said they were, at the very least, not platonic.
“They were quietly sat away from everyone else at restaurant. It was clear they were into each other and sat close together throughout the meal. They left together and walked, stopping for long embraces and on the second kiss with hugs,” the unknown source told DailyMail.
These photos, taken by onlookers outside the restaurant, show Noah leaning in for a kiss, a clear indication that relations between him and Lipa are far removed from the friendship boundary.
Prior to Lipa, Noah dated actress Minka Kelly for two years. Per Cosmopolitan, the couple went public with their relationship in 2020, but by May 2022, the bond wasn’t strong enough to keep them together.
Lipa experienced a similar fate with her ex-boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, whom she dated for two years.
Noah announces he’s leaving ‘The Daily Show’
Speculation around Noah and Lipa’s relationship status comes right after the South African-born comedian announced his decision to exit The Daily Show after seven years.
Noah moved to the US in 2011, and four years later, he was cast as the replacement of The Daily Show‘s long-time host, Jon Stewart. The transition was not an easy one for Noah and die-hard fans of the Comedy Central show.
However, seven years later, Noah has steered The Daily Show to new heights, and right at the top of his game, the 38-year-old revealed his decision to vacate his seat to explore another part of his life.
“I sort of felt like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I came in for a tour of what the previous show was. And then the next thing I know, I was handed the keys,” Noah reflected.
