As reported by Channel 24, the Canadian musician took to the stage at the SoFi Stadium as part of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour.
However, midway through the song, Can’t Feel My Face, he halted his set and walked off the stage before returning to tell the audience he had to “stop the show.”
“I’m going to make sure everyone is good, you’ll get your money back,” he told the stunned audience. “But I’ll do a show real soon for you guys.”
Many fans remained confused or in disbelief, not leaving their seats even after it was clear the show was over.
Following the abrupt cancellation, The Weeknd took to Twitter to further explain the situation. He vowed to make it up to his fans. Additionally, mentioning that he was “devastated.”
“My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”
The 32-year-old is currently on his After Hours Til Dawn tour. His next show is set to take place on 22 September in Toronto, Canada.
There are no details yet for a rescheduled Los Angeles show. It also remains unclear if other show dates will be affected.
