Fans of The Big Hash have finally found some semblance in the mystery behind their favourite rapper’s disappearance from the scene.
The Pretoria youngster’s music, once a hot property on digital streaming platforms, has been a deserted catalogue with the most recent release, Missing Pryce, a loosie he dropped off in November 2020.
The Big Hash says he’s suing Innanetwav
Fans waiting with great anticipation for his much-anticipated Aries EP were left in the dark — until now — about why Hash was not forthcoming with new music.
On Thursday, the Pretorian rapper took to his social media to address the behind-the-scene ongoings that have taken hold of his music career.
In an edited IG TV clip, Hash went into further detail about his legal feud with his former label Innanetwav. In the clip, Hash categorically stated that his beef was with label executives and not the artists currently on the indie’s roster.
Here is the three-minute clip where Hash addresses his current label woes:
The real reason why Hash can’t release music
On his website, Hash went into greater detail about the reasons behind his inability to release new music.
“In the spring of 2020, I was assisted by Tailor Made Consultants and M3NA Media to mutually separate from the label. All of this changed when details of their dealings became known to me. While signed to innanetwav. I was being manipulated and exploited by people whom I considered family. A six-figure deal was signed, using my power of attorney, without total disclosure of the details, money and financial records related to my name and music were being withheld from me,” Hash wrote.
The rapper explained that despite a number of attempts to resolve contractual issues with the label, and further commitments he made to see through the duration of his deal, he was still barred from releasing new music as an independent artist.
This explains why Peace of Mind can be found nowhere on digital streaming platforms. At this juncture, it remains unclear what the reason behind Innanetwav’s barring is.
Whether Hash has obligations he’s failed to meet in his recording contract, remains to be addressed by the label when they respond to a list of questions Swisher Post News sent to their representatives.
“I find myself on the brink of giving up the dream I chose to live out. I don’t have the same confidence or hunger I had when I was trying to make a name for myself. My ambition is slowly wasting away and all I can do is watch while I continue a fight that should’ve ended months ago,” Hash wrote.
