Eastern Cape
Initially partly cloudy, the western half of the Eastern Cape will be very hot, with cooler temperatures along the coast. Coastal winds will shift from moderate north-easterly to light south-westerly.
In the east, the day starts partly cloudy, becoming fine and hot, but cooler along the coast and interior. Cloudy conditions with mist will develop south of the escarpment by late afternoon. Expect moderate to fresh north-easterly coastal winds.
Free State
The west will be fine, while the rest of the province can expect partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and thundershowers. Conditions will be hot to very hot.
Gauteng
Anticipate partly cloudy and hot weather, with isolated showers and thundershowers. The UVB sunburn index is rated as extreme.
KwaZulu-Natal
The region will be fine and extremely hot, particularly in the north. Partly cloudy skies in the afternoon, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the west and central parts. Coastal winds will be light south-easterly, turning north-easterly later. The UVB sunburn index is low.
Limpopo
Expect partly cloudy conditions with very hot to extremely hot temperatures. Scattered showers and thundershowers are forecast, but isolated over the Western Bushveld and Lowveld.
Mpumalanga
Morning cloudiness in the west, giving way to a partly cloudy and warm to hot day, with scattered thundershowers. The Lowveld will be very hot.
North West
Fine conditions in the west early on, then becoming partly cloudy and very hot with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape
Morning fog along the coast and adjacent interior, where it will be cool. Elsewhere, expect fine and hot to very hot weather, becoming partly cloudy in the northeast. Coastal winds will be light north-westerly, turning south-westerly to southerly by evening.
Western Cape
Cloudy to partly cloudy over western and south-western parts with morning mist along the west coast. The eastern interior will be fine, warm to hot. Strong north-westerly winds along the southwestern coast will moderate late in the day. The UVB sunburn index is extreme.
