Instagram model and songstress Sithelo Shozi and Royal AM football club chairperson Andile Mpisane appeared in court on Monday for a legal dispute over their child, Coco
Sithelo Shozi faces off with Andile Mpisane over child custody
As reported by Tshisa Live, Shozi, who is the mother of Mpisane’s two children, has been fighting for custody of her three-year-old daughter since March 2022.
During the hearing on Monday, Shozi reportedly shed tears in the courtroom while Mpisane appeared unbothered and bored, according to a source.
The legal matter revolves around the Mpisanes allegedly keeping Shozi’s daughter from her since she allegedly dropped her off for a short visit late last year.
Sources who were at the court appearance claim the pair had a private conversation supervised by their lawyers during a recess. One of the lawyers stated that Shozi only wants the child.
The Mpisanes’ lawyer, Ntsako Godi, previously denied any allegations of abduction and insisted that the child has always been raised in Mamkhize’s home.
Relations between Mpisane and Shozi have been sour since the Royal AM chairman surfaced on social media, in December 2021, as the newly wedded husband of Tamia Louw, just seven months after the birth of Little Coco.
In July 2022, Shozi accused Mpisane of abuse and leaked a disturbing phone call where he was heard threatening to take her children.
“I’m not one to speak about anything concerning my private life, more especially where my kids are involved, but everyone has a breaking point and this narrative has gone too far. I’ve been silent for far too long and hid my truth for the sake of peace but today I will not be silenced,” Shozi wrote at the time.
The case remains ongoing as the legal battle between the parents continues.
