A Midlands ambulance transporting cancer patients was involved in a tragic accident on the N3 highway between Cedara and Merrivale, resulting in significant injuries and the deaths of two individuals.

Emergency crews from Midlands EMS, including their specialised rescue division, were quick to arrive at the scene of the crash on the southbound lane of the N3, per Arrive Alive.
The first responders encountered a distressing situation as the ambulance had sustained extensive damage, complicating the rescue efforts.
During the chaos, several passengers in the ambulance were critically injured. One individual, in particularly dire condition, was found trapped inside the vehicle.
This person required advanced life support and was immediately placed on a ventilator at the scene to stabilise their condition.
Tragically, two people sustained injuries that proved fatal and were pronounced dead before they could be transported for further medical treatment.
All the injured received first aid and stabilisation at the crash site.
Following this initial treatment, they were transported to various hospitals in the area where they could receive more comprehensive medical care.
Police and other authorities were present at the site to oversee the safety and order of the rescue operations.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the collision and to assess any underlying issues that contributed to this severe incident.
