Tems‘ fanbase is having none of it with Manifesto Festival following the Nigerian crooner’s decision to pull out of the event in the 11th hour.
Manifesto Festival fans demand refunds after Tems cancels appearance
The Crazy Tings singer made no public statement on why she’s no longer headlining the music event taking place in Toronto, Canada, on Friday, 11 August 2022. However, according to Manifesto Festival promoters, Tems, who was recently in London, UK, for a live gig, encountered issues with her visa application.
“Although this is sudden, we promise she will be back very soon with the Manifesto Family,” the festival wrote.
As if the disappointment of not seeing Tems live was not enough for Toronto fans, the festival delivered a double whammy and announced that Jazmine Sullivan had also pulled out of the festival “due to unforeseen personal circumstances.”
“We know this is disappointing, but we have found an incredible addition to make it up to you…” the festival wrote.
The incredible addition? — Multi-award-winning African superstar Davido was confirmed as Manifesto Festival’s main headliner two days before the event. This is the second time Davido returns to Manifesto in the same year, and while the prospect of having a top-draw attraction on stage, in theory, seems sound, most fans were ready to boycott the event.
Fans have since taken to social media to demand a refund on their tickets, and at the time this article was published, the festival’s promoters were inundated with these requests.
“We hear you and rest assured anyone that wants their coins back will get it. The team is working hard to get the issue with ticketmaster fixed. We will post as soon as it’s up and running,” the festival wrote in response to one fan.
