Pop Smoke has one album under his belt and while it arrived posthumously, its success has notched his legacy up to god level and at this rate, his ascension can’t be stopped.
The events that have occurred around the arrival of Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon are boggling, to say the least. First, Virgil Abloh was chastised for apparently ruining the artwork of Pop Smoke’s debut album even though, the Louis Vuitton head’s mere involvement in the project was a bid to honour the New York rapper’s wishes.
Then, a week after the 19-track posthumous album dropped, it was announced that five suspects believed to be involved in the incident that led to his death had been arrested and charged with crimes ranging from murder, attempted murder to robbery and home invasion.
We won’t even go into the beef that sparked between Young Thug and Pusha T over an unreleased verse from the latter where it’s believed he took shots at Drake on Paranoia.
