Tensions are palpable in the upscale community of Hollywood Hills after residents launched a petition aimed at removing famed rapper Nicki Minaj and her husband from their mansion.
Hollywood Hills petition against Nicki Minaj is about Kenneth Petty’s status
As reported by TMZ, concerned neighbours argue that the presence of Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a convicted felon and registered sex offender, poses potential risks to the community.
The petition, initiated by Hidden Hills resident Beverly Bardan, highlights the community’s worries regarding Petty’s criminal history. In 1995, he was convicted of attempted rape in New York, resulting in a prison sentence of over four years.
Recent attention has been drawn to Petty after he filed legal documents updating his address on the Megan’s Law website, raising awareness among his neighbours.
Minaj and Petty purchased their Hidden Hills mansion on December 2022, and it was previously reported that Petty is currently serving one year of home detention in California for failing to register as a sex offender.
Beverly Bardan argues that the couple’s presence could have a negative impact on property values and create safety concerns within the community.
Bardan urges fellow residents to inform others about Petty’s background and encourages them to join the petition titled “SAY NO TO SEX OFFENDERS IN HIDDEN HILLS.”
Since its launch, the petition has gained traction, garnering over 100 signatures in recent days and accumulating a total of 862 signatures and counting.
Hidden Hills, often dubbed the new Beverly Hills, is home to various celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, and Will and Jada Smith.
The controversy surrounding Minaj and Petty’s residence raises questions about the community’s stance on accommodating individuals with criminal backgrounds and the potential impact on the reputation and security of the neighbourhood.
