When is Gloria Bosman funeral? – Here’s everything we know
South Africa’s entertainment industry is still reeling from the loss of Bosman, who was pronounced dead at 50 on Tuesday, 14 March 2023.
In a statement, Bosman’s family confirmed the Amaqwati singer will be laid to rest at the West Park cemetery in Heroes’ Acre, Pretoria, on Sunday, 19 March 2023 in a private ceremony reserved for relatives and close friends.
Bosman lost her life earlier this week after a battle with a short illness. At this time, the singer’s cause of death remains unknown.
Bosman’s family extended its enormous gratitude “to her dignitaries, colleagues as well as stakeholders in the arts and music industry [and] her friends who have shown up and supported us from the moment of her passing.”
“As a family we have always known how special Gloria was, but your outpouring love and expressions of pain in her loss, showed us how much she was bigger than being ours alone to love,” the family said.
Reacting to Bosman’s death, Gallo Music general manager Rob Cowling described the tragedy as “terrible news and such a shame.”
“She was an amazing lady and one of the first female artists signed to Sheer Sound in 1999, leading to a fruitful relationship of awards and more music. She will be sorely missed, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to all friends and family,” he told News24.
The singer’s family lauded fans for receiving her big heart and described her as “a national treasure.”
“She was a patriotic national treasure and played a significant role in the music industry and the creative arts. She is going to be missed by all of us,” the statement concluded.
