Gigi Lamayne surfaced on International Women’s Day to unveil her latest venture, a reality TV show slash doccie series, Gigi Gang Mansion, which features appearances from a slew of female emerging talent.
What is Gigi Lamayne reality show about?
The rapper, whose recent ventures include a music podcast, Point of View, which went viral in late October 2022 over controversial statements made by celebrity sangoma Gogo Maweni, has pivoted toward the reality TV space, and this time around, she’s brought along what she describes as South Africa’s future entertainment talent.
According to Gedlela star, recruiting talent for her show, which includes famous stripper Sativa and emerging artists like Miranda, Dimpho and Don Clava, as well as OnlyFans models, was like compiling different characters into a picture of what her ‘super ego’ would look like.
“A little bit of sexy, hardworking, daring, chique, sometimes shy, likes to play around, all put into one. And, I guess, everybody in the house kind of represented something that I am,” she said.
The basic synopsis of the reality show can be summed up as a collection of footage showcasing South Africa’s emerging talent hustling out of a villa in the leafy suburbs of Gauteng.
When is ‘Gigi Gang Mansion’ release date?
On Wednesday, Gigi confirmed that her reality show, Gigi Gang Mansion, which, at this time, remains without a broadcasting deal, will premiere on her YouTube channel, POVXGIGI, in June 2023.
An official premiere date had not been announced when this article was published.
To build anticipation for the show, the rapper dropped a ‘special edition’ episode, which introduces audiences to the cast and teases some of the drama we can expect, including a bizarre cameo from Nota Baloyi.
“The outcome of the ‘Gigi Gang Experience’ has to have probably been allowing women to work together and getting a product out of it. Many people believe that women cannot work together, we are continuously in competition, we can’t coexist and even… cohabitate?” she said.
